Wat is buurttoezicht?
Als buurttoezichthouder draagt u bij aan de veiligheid in uw buurt. Dit doet u door vrijwillig toezicht te houden. De belangrijkste functie van buurttoezicht is horen, zien en melden. Alleen of samen met andere buurttoezichthouders loopt u door uw buurt. Bij onveilige situaties houdt u buurtgenoten, gemeente of politie op de hoogte.
De gemeente
De gemeente Vijfheerenlanden heeft veel wijken en buurten met een eigen karakter. We doen onze uiterste best om de gemeente schoon, heel en veilig te houden. Dit doen we samen met partners zoals bijvoorbeeld de politie, reinigingsdienst Waardlanden en het jeugd- en jongerenwerk.
Maar voor een belangrijk deel worden we ondersteund door onze inwoners en ondernemers zelf. Bijvoorbeeld door op vrijwillige basis deel te nemen aan diverse vormen van buurtpreventie.
Buurttoezicht in Leerdam
De gemeente Vijfheerenlanden en de politie steunen buurttoezicht. Zo stelt de gemeente herkenbare kleding beschikbaar en draagt bij aan de trainingen. De politie en de boa’s werken actief samen met de buurttoezichthouders.
